Works for Me Wednesday - Backwards Edition

Alrighty...well...this week powers other than ME have decided that this Wednesday is BACKWARDS EDITION. Usually, every Wednesday I post a tip. Well, today...I have the question! And, I need you for the answers!

I want to know:

What are your Easter traditions?

We haven't really started any traditions yet, but last year we went for an egg hunt with our daughter at a local farm. They had animals and crafts in their barn with the egg hunt. We also had a nice dinner at home with the family. We'll probably do the same this Easter! :)

i don't have any easter traditions...i'm jewish. we have passover, around the same time. usually, we have seder...dinner...for the first two nights of passover. it's my absolute favorite holiday!!

as for your snowday idea...would i have to let them out of the sheets or could i just put a padlock on them, once they are mummified? just checking ;)

Church, basket hunts, chocolate chow-down, then a nice big ham for dinner.

Thanks so much for commenting on my blog & leaving your wonderful words of inspiration! I loved both of your quotes!

As for my Easter traditions, my DH and I have yet to make any of our own..we figure that will come when we have kids, but I used to love coloring easter eggs with my cousins. I also used to make "empty tomb" cookies (basically meringues) to signify Jesus' empty tomb on Easter morning!

Easter baskets (of course)....I always seek to find creative basket stuffers that are unique and/or handmade to stand alongside the candies and treats.

To make my basket healthier, my parents always put in sunflower seeds when I was a kid, and this tradition stuck with my current family.

Peeps are always there, I might add.

And easter egg hunts.

And this year, we might try the Resurrection Cookie recipe I've heard about.

We celebrate Ostara which is on the first day of Spring.

Our family does a hobo meal (variety of cheeses, meats, sweet breads, olives, etc. We also try to drink a new mead.)

I do still do a basket for the kids like my mother did. We will put a variety of candy, and an item they want. (CD, toy, etc.) and then hide the entire basket for them to get up and find.

It's fun, it just makes me happy that Spring is finally making an appearance.
